He makes his stakes debut Saturday on the heels of consecutive runner-up finishes in Allowance Optional Claiming races at Belmont Park. Governor Malibu 4-1 - has placed in 10 of 12 career starts for trainer Christophe Clement - three wins, six seconds and a third place finish. Last time out was a second in the minor Empire Classic at Belmont Park October 22 which followed an Allowance Optional Claiming score on that track September 30, a fifth in the competitive G1 Travers Stakes August 27, a decent second in the G2 Jim Dandy Stakes here July 30, a fourth in the Belmont Stakes and a respectable second in his graded stakes debut - the G2 Peter Pan Stakes May 14. He also had a good win in the minor Gander Stakes at here in February. Governor Malibu has been in every race so far and hopes for his first graded stakes score Saturday as the third betting favorite. Joe Bravo has been tabbed with accomplishing that goal from post 5.
Sticksstatelydude 6-1 - has two wins and three second place finishes in seven career starts for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin. Last time out was a decent second in the G3 Oklahoma Derby at Remington Park September 25 after an OK fourth in the Grade 3 Smarty Jones Stakes at Parx September 5, an Allowance score at Belmont Park July 15, a second in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Churchill Downs in June, eight months away and a fourth in the Breeders' Futurity in October. My Man Sam has been just OK so far in his career and will be after his first stakes win Saturday with Irad Ortiz in the irons from post 7.
Hot Seat 10-1 - will hit the track for just the third time for trainer Jason Servis having posted two wins so far. He makes his graded stakes debut off an Allowance score October 11 by seven lengths and a maiden score by 13 lengths at first asking - both at Parx. Hot Seat will try to remain undefeated in his major step up in competition - from gate 6 with Antonio Gallardo in the saddle.
Neolithic 15-1 - has a win and a pair of runner-up finishes in his five career starts. He makes his stakes debut Saturday off a second in an Allowance at Belmont Park October 10, a seventh and a second respectively in a pair of similar races this past summer and a maiden score last December in his second career start. Neolithic has been just OK so far and will be out to make a statement Saturday from gate 8 with Jose Lezcano aboard.
Wild About Deb 15-1 - lightly raced Ramon Preciado trained colt has a win, two seconds and two third place finishes in six career starts. He enters off a decent third in the G2 Pennsylvania Derby at Parx September 24 which followed a good second behind Awesome Slew in the G3 Smarty Jones Stakes on that track September 5, a seventh in the minor Ohio Derby, a third in the G2 Peter Pan Stakes May 14, a maiden score in April and a second in his debut in November. Wild About Deb chases his first stakes score Saturday having placed in all three graded stakes tries. Jose Ortiz is scheduled to ride from post 9.
Vulcan's Forge 20-1 - Todd Pletcher trained colt has two wins and three third place finishes in eight career starts. He makes his graded stakes debut Saturday off an Allowance score at Belmont Park September 16 and consecutive thirds - an Allowance Optional Claiming at Saratoga August 14 and the minor Lamplighter Stakes at Monmouth Park in July. Vulcan's Forge has been improving every time out and chases a breakthrough performance from gate 10 Saturday with Luis Saez guiding him.
Sunny Ridge 20-1 - Jason Servis trained gelding finished seventh in the G3 Sanford Stakes at Saratoga last July and has been up-and-down since. He was last seen running a disappointing eleventh in the G2 Pennsylvania Derby at Parx September 24 after an OK third in the G1 Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park July 31, a slightly disappointing fourth in the G3 Gotham Stakes at Aqueduct in March, an impressive win in the G3 Withers Stakes on that track January 30, a second behind Exaggerator in the $1,000,000 Delta Downs Jackpot November 21. He also had another second in the G1 Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park last August and a win in the minor $100,000 Sapling Stakes at Monmouth Park September 6. Sunny Ridge looked terrific in his first five starts and will be out to avenge three uncharacteristic outings when he leaves from the outside post 11 with Manuel Franco guiding him.
Hunter O'Riley 30-1 - has two wins, two seconds and two third place finishes in nine career starts for trainer James Toner. His only stakes start was a seventh in the G2 Remsen Stakes here last year at this time and has been OK since.
