OffTrackBetting.com - The Grade 3 Jersey Shore Stakes comes our way this Saturday, July 23 from Monmouth Park in Oceanport, New Jersey. Horses three years old will be featured when they take to Monmouth Park's dirt track and dash six furlongs for the winner's share of the $100,000 purse.
Six sophomores will take to the track in the Jersey Shore Stakes - race 8 on Monmouth Park's Saturday schedule. Post time is 4:20 PM. Let's take a glance into the past performances of all six entries for this Grade 3 stakes.
Full Salute 5-2 - Edward Plesa trained colt has placed in eight of 10 career starts - five wins and three seconds - the only times he hasn't hit the board have come in graded stakes company. Last time out was a win in the minor Select Stakes June 12 after an Allowance Optional Claiming score May 22 - both on this track. Before that was a sixth in the Grade 3 Hutcheson Stakes at Gulfstream in January, a win in the minor Buffalo Man Stakes in November and a fifth in the Grade 2 Futurity Stakes in October. Full Salute has looked slightly overwhelmed against top company but hopes to change all of that around Saturday. He looks for his third straight win overall with Orlando Bocachica in the irons of the morning line favorite from the outside gate 6.
Front Pocket Money 3-1 - Steve Asmussen trained gelding has placed in three of four career starts - two wins and a second place finish. He makes his stakes debut Saturday off a second in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Churchill Downs June 12, an Allowance score on that track May 5 and a maiden score in April at Oaklawn Park. Front Pocket Money has been good so far and steps up having been a factor in his last three races. Antonio Gallardo has been tabbed to ride the morning line second choice from the rail.

Cashel Rock 4-1 - has 13 career starts already for trainer Doug Matthews with five wins, three seconds and three third place finishes. He makes his graded stakes debut in good form - three wins, a second and a third place finish in his last five starts overall. Last time out was a second in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Parx July 12 after an OK third in the minor Prairie Mile Stakes June 10, a good win in the minor Golden Circle Stakes April 29 and two Allowance scores this past spring. He looks ready for his step up and is expected to be in the mix Saturday. Victor Lebron will be in the saddle of the intriguing third betting choice from gate 4.
Yellow Chips 9-2 - Edward Plesa trained colt has three wins and a second place finish in seven career starts. He makes his stakes debut Saturday on a two race win streak - both Allowance Optional Claiming races with the last coming on this track July 2. He failed to place in his previous three starts however. Yellow Chips seemed to have found something and enters in career best from. Joe Bravo has been tabbed with keeping an impressive roll going from post 3 Saturday.
Colonel Sharp 9-2 - has won two of his three career starts for trainer Todd Beattie. He enters off a terrible tenth however in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Belmont Park June 11 after a win in a similar race at Pimlico in May and a maiden score at first asking at Penn National in April. Colonel Sharp looks for a bounceback performance in his stakes debut when he leaves from gate 2 with Nik Juarez aboard.
Divine Warrior 6-1 - William Bradley trained colt has three wins and two third place finishes in 10 career starts and enters this race on a nice two race win streak. Last time out was in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Ellis Park July 2 and before that was in an Allowance at Churchill Downs June 11. He makes his stakes debut Saturday hoping his recent success translates into open company. Chris Landeros will be in the reins from post 5 Saturday.
Race 8 on Monmouth Park's Saturday card with a Post Time of 4:38 PM.
