He enters off a third place finish in the minor Pennsylvania Governor's Cup Stakes at Penn National June 4 after a pair of wins - the best of which coming in the mint Jim McKay Turf Sprint at Pimlico May 20 - a race he's now won two straight years. He now has 56 career starts with an astounding 32 wins, nine seconds and five third place finishes and has placed in four of his last five starts overall. Take Cover 4-1 - Alan Goldberg trained colt has three wins and two third place finishes in nine career starts and enters this week on a three race win streak as well. Last time out was a victory in his stakes debut - over Ben's Cat among others in the minor Pennsylvania Governor's Cup Stakes at this distance at Penn National June 4 after an Allowance score at Laurel Park April 29 and a maiden score at Fair Grounds in March. He hasn't been touched in four months and hopes for a fourth straight win in his graded stakes debut from post 5.
Run for Logistics 5-1 - has 18 career starts for trainer Edward Plesa with four wins, five seconds and two third place finishes. He enters on a good two race win streak - an Allowance Optional Claiming last time out at Monmouth Park June 4 and an Allowance at Belmont Park in September after nearly nine months away. His only graded stakes action to date came before that - a tenth in the Grade 1 Forego Stakes at Saratoga last August. Run for Logistics has three wins and three seconds in his last seven starts overall and will try for his biggest win to date Saturday. Frankie Pennington has the mount from gate 6.
Pure Sensation 6-1 - Christophe Clement trained gelding has 16 career starts with five wins, four seconds and two third place finishes. He enters off a terrific win in the six furlong Grade 3 Jaipur Invitational Stakes at Belmont Park June 11 after two underwhelming results - a fifth in the minor Gulfstream Park Turf in February and an eighth in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint. Before that was a win in the Grade 3 Turf Monster Handicap at this distance on this track September 7 and an Allowance Optional Claiming score in July. Pure Sensation has been a tad up and down in his career but has win two of his last four graded stakes tries. He looks for his second straight Grade 3 score from gate 8 Saturday with Kendrick Carmouche in the irons.
Rocket Heat 8-1 - won the Grade 3 Twin Spires Turf Sprint Stakes three starts back at Churchill Downs but has struggled to find that form again in two starts since. Last time out was an ugly tenth in the Grade 3 Jaipur Invitational Stakes at Belmont Park June 11 which followed a third in the minor Jim McKay Turf Sprint Stakes at Pimlico May 20. Rocket Heat now has six wins, five seconds and two third place finishes in 19 career starts and will be after his second graded stakes score from post 9 Saturday. Aaron Gryder has the mount.
Fast Flying Rumor 8-1 - multiple minor stakes winner has six victories and six second place finishes in 18 career starts for trainer Gerald Bennett and has three wins and two seconds in his last six starts. Last time out was a second in an Allowance Optional Claiming here June 13 after another second in the minor Hilton Garden Inn/Hampton Inn and Suites Stakes at Tampa Bay in April. He had a three race win streak to start his year - the best of which came in the minor Turf Dash Stakes at Tampa Bay in January. He races in graded stakes company for the first time in decent form and will have Paco Lopez guiding him from the outside gate 10.
Bold Thunder 15-1 - finished seventh in this race last year for trainer Patricia Farro and has failed to place in five starts since - a pair of fourth place finishes and three other seventh place finishes over that span. Last time out was a fourth in a Starter Optional Claiming March 27 after a seventh in the minor Silks Run Stakes March 12 and another seventh in the minor Gulfstream Park Turf Sprint in February - all results at Gulfstream. Bold Thunder now has seven wins, three seconds and five third place finishes in 29 career starts and arrives in unflattering form. Jockey Pierre Hernandez Ortega will try to right the ship Saturday from post 3.
Boot Scootn Daddy 15-1 - lightly raced Guadalupe Preciado trained gelding has two wins, a second and a third place finish in six career starts. He makes his graded stakes debut Saturday off a disappointing sixth in his stakes debut - the minor Pennsylvania Governor's Cup Stakes at Penn National June 4. Before that was a second in an Allowance Optional Claiming on this track May 9, an eighth in a similar race last August and a third in another Allowance Optional Claiming two weeks prior to that. He steps up in less-than-spectacular form and will depart from the rail with Angel Castillo aboard.
