It followed a very good step up into stakes company - a one length win at 12-1 in the G3 Sanford Stakes at Saratoga July 22 and a 3 1/2 length maiden score at Monmouth Park at first asking - June 18. Firenze Fire was terrific in his first two starts but hopes for a strong bounce back off a bit of a dud last time out. Irad Ortiz will try to accomplish that goal on the only graded stakes winner in the field - from the outside gate 12.
