Impressive Wesley Ward trained filly has placed in seven of eight career starts - six wins and a third place finish. She started her career in Peurto Rico where she posted six wins including the G1 Accion de Gracias Stakes in November, the G3 Clasico Verset's Jet Stakes January 1 and the G2 Clasico Defensora Stakes in March. She has just one start in North America and that was a fourth last time out in the G3 Miss Preakness Stakes at Pimlico May 19. Too Much Tip has been terrific so far in her career and looks to bounce back off an uncharacteristic effort last time out when she leaves from the rail with John Velazquez aboard.
Has 12 career starts with five wins and three second-place finishes. She win three straight races in the fall of 2016 including the minor My Trust Cat Stakes at Delta Downs in October but has been up-and-down since. Up-and-coming Bob Baffert trained filly has four career starts and two wins, a second and a third place finish. She was last seen back in December when she finished a quality second in the G1 Starlet Stakes at Los Alamitos. Before that was her graded stakes debut which resulted in a respectable third as favorite - after a troubled trip in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies November 5, a good 6 1/2 length win in the minor Anakia Stakes at Santa Anita October 23 and a maiden score by 2 1/4 lengths at first asking - at Del Mar August 14. American Gal has been competitive every time out and looks to be in good shape to claim her first graded stakes score. Flavien Prat gets the call in American Gal's first start in seven months from post 3.
Chad Brown trained filly has placed in all three career starts - one win and two runner-up finishes. She broke maiden at first asking and has since posted second place finishes in a pair of minor stakes races - the Bouwerie Stakes on this track last time out May 29 and the New York Stallion Stakes at Aqueduct April 22. Noble Freud has been competitive so far and hopes to carry the momentum into her graded stakes debut. Irad Ortiz has been tabbed to ride from gate 4.
Has four wins, a second and a third-place finish in nine career starts for trainer Steve Asmussen. Last time out was a DNF in the minor Jersey Girl Stakes on this track June 11 which followed two good wins - the G3 Miss Preakness Stakes at Pimlico May 19 and the minor Goldfinch Stakes at Prairie Meadows April 29. Before that was a third in the minor Purple Martin Stakes at Oaklawn Park in March, a fourth in the minor Dixie Belles Stakes January 21 and an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Churchill Downs in November. Vertical Oak has placed in three of her last our starts overall and hopes to avenge that DNF last time out when she leaves from post 5 with Jose Ortiz guiding her.
