Last time out he continued his impressive roll with a dominant win in the G1 FrontRunner Stakes at Santa Anita September 30. Bolt d'Oro has looked sensational in works leading up to this weekend and hopes to make it four-for-four to start his career from post 11.
Has four career starts for trainer Dale Romans with two wins and two second-place finishes so far. Last time out was a terrific win against a full field in the G1 Claiborne Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland October 7 after a decent second in the G1 Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga September 4 and another second behind Firenze Fire in the G3 Sanford Stakes on that track July 22. He started his career with a three-length maiden score at first asking - at Churchill Downs June 15. Free Drop Billy has three graded stakes tries already, has looked good in all and has improved every time out. He tries to keep the upward trend going Saturday from post 5.
Jason Servis trained colt has four career starts and three nice wins. Last time out was a good win in the G1 Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park October 7 which followed a bit of a step back - a fourth in the G1 Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga September 4. Before that was a very good step up into stakes company - a one length win at 12-1 in the G3 Sanford Stakes at Saratoga July 22 and a 3 1/2 length maiden score at Monmouth Park at first asking - June 18. Firenze Fire has been superb in three of his four career starts and hopes to build on his second graded stakes score Saturday from post 3.
Bob Baffert trained colt has two career starts and has been competitive in both - a second behind Bolt d'Oro last time out in the G1 FrontRunner Stakes at Santa Anita September 30 followed a maiden score by 1 3/4 lengths in a 6 1/2-furlong race at Del Mar September 2. Solomini shoots for a first stakes score and arrives in pretty good form. He departs from gate 2.
Aidan O'Brien trained colt has four wins, a second and two third-place finishes in 10 career starts. He makes his North American debut Friday on a three -race win streak - the Group 1 Darley Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket October 14, the Group 1 Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes on that track September 30 and the Group 3 Plusvital Round Tower Stakes in August. He placed in two of his three previous Group stakes starts as well. U S Navy Flag hasn't been touched lately and hopes his success overseas translates Saturday from the rail.
