Before that was a second in the prestigious $2 million Group 1 Dubai Golden Shaheen at Meydan on March 26, 2016 and five straight wins - the G3 Gulfstream Park Sprint in February, 2016, the minor Sunshine Millions Sprint by 4 1/4 lengths in January, the 2015 G3 Mr. Prospector and two straight Allowance Optional Claiming races. Overall, he has six wins, six seconds and two third place finishes in 17 career starts and will try to return from his dominant form from two years ago. Emisael Jaramillo has the mount on the morning line favorite from gate 6.
Armando De la Cerda trained gelding has placed in 10 of 15 career starts - six wins and four third-place finishes. He enters off a nice win in the minor Millions Sprint Preview Stakes at Gulfstream Park November 11 after a fifth in the G3 Smile Sprint Stakes on this track July 1 and another win in the minor Big Drama Stakes here in May. Quijote has won four of his last six starts overall but has yet to post a graded stakes victory in two tries. Jockey Jose Batista will try to change all of that on the morning line second choice from gate 8 Saturday.

He makes his graded stakes debut Saturday off a good 3 1/2 length win at this distance in the minor Claiming Crown Express Stakes on this track December 2 which followed a seventh in an Allowance at Thistledown August 30 and a pair of sevenths including the listed Senator Robert C. Byrd Memorial Stakes at Mountaineer August 5 -the last two losses coming by DQ. He won four straight Allowance races in the Spring as well but has been up and down since. Has placed in eight of 11 career starts for trainer John Mazza - three wins, three seconds and two third-place finishes. He makes his graded stakes debut Saturday in OK form - a second last time out in an Allowance Optional Claiming September 23 at Parx followed a third in the listed Donald LeVine Memorial Stakes September 4 on that track, a second with a respectable 101 BRIS Speed Rating in the minor John J. Reilly Handicap at Monmouth Park July 30 and an Allowance Optional Claiming score on that track June 23. Fast Friar seeks a first stakes win Saturday. Nik Juarez will be in the saddle from post 9.

He enters off a second behind Quijote in the minor Millions Sprint Preview Stakes at Gulfstream Park West November 11 which followed off-the-board finishes in three stakes races - fourths in the minor Groomstick Handicap here September 3 and the minor Jupiter Beach Handicap August 20 and a sixth in the G3 Carry Back Stakes on this track July 1. He won two of his previous three however - the listed Mucho Macho Man in January and the minor Juvenile Sprint Stakes at Gulfstream Park West in November, 2016.
