OffTrackBetting.com - Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington, Kentucky will play host to the G3 Adena Springs Beaumont Stakes on Sunday, April 9. A purse of $150,000 and a 10-4-2-1 points scale for the first through fourth place finishers for the Kentucky Oaks May 5 will be on the line when three year old fillies take to Keeneland's dirt track and race about seven furlongs.
A field of seven have been confirmed for the Beaumont Stakes - race 8 on Keeneland's Sunday schedule. Post time is 4:57 PM. Let's take a brief look into the past performances of all seven combatants for this "Road to the Kentucky Oaks" G3 stakes.
Dancing Rags - Graham Motion trained filly has two wins and a third place finish in her four career starts. She debuted with a third August 5 and broke maiden September 17 at Laurel Park. She made a very successful step up into stakes company - a one length win in the G1 Darley Alcibiades Stakes at Keeneland October 7 but most recently fell back to earth a bit with an eighth place finish in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. Dancing Rags looked great before last time out and will return to the scene of her biggest victory to date hoping to get back in the win column. Angel Cruz has the mount from post 5.
Sweet Loretta - impressive Todd Pletcher trained filly has four career starts and three wins - two graded stakes. Last time out was a rather big step back however - an eleventh in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. That result followed good wins - in a dead heat with Pretty City Dancer in the G1 Spinaway Stakes at Saratoga September 3 and by 4 1/4 lengths in the G3 Schuylerville Stakes on that track July 22. She also won her debut by seven lengths at Monmouth Park in June. Sweet Loretta had been terrific before her Breeders' Cup experience and hopes to prove that result was the exception, not the rule. Javier Castellano will be in the irons from post 3 hoping to accomplish that goal.

My Miss Chiff - will hit the track for the third time for trainer Albert Stall Jr. having posted two nice wins so far by a combined 13 3/4 lengths - both at Fair Grounds. Last time out her win came in an Allowance Optional Claiming March 5 after her maiden score at first asking January 26. My Miss Chiff hasn't been touched so far and hopes to remain unbeaten Sunday. Mitchell Murrill has been tabbed to ride from gate 2.
Laney - Eddie Kenneally trained filly has seven career starts with three wins and a third place finish. She makes her stakes debut Sunday on a nice two race win streak - an Allowance Optional Claiming last time out at Tampa Bay March 4 and a Starter Optional Claiming at Gulfstream Park January 16. Before that was a seventh in an Allowance Optional Claiming in November, a third in an Allowance in October and a Maiden Claiming score at Churchill Downs in September. Laney has been decent against lesser competition and hopes to carry the momentum in her giant step up in competition Sunday, She tries to make it three straight wins - this time with Julien Leparoux in the saddle from the rail.
Sine Wave - has two career starts for trainer Benjamin Perkins Jr. and has won both. She steps into stakes company for the first time Sunday off an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Parx February 24 which followed a maiden score at first asking - at Laurel Park December 10. Sine Wave ties to remain perfect in this step up in competition when she leaves from gate 6 with Florent Geroux aboard.
Promises Broken - has two wins and a third place finish in four career starts for trainer Philip Sims. She stepped into stakes company for the first time last time out and finished a disappointing sixth in the minor Cincinnati Trophy Stakes at Turfway Park February 4 after an Allowance Optional Claiming score on that track January 18, a third in a similar race at Churchill Downs in November and a Maiden Claiming score at first asking - on this track in October. Promises Broken looked great against lesser competition and hopes it finally translates against stakes foes. Robby Albarado gets the call from the outside post 7.
Treble - Ron Moquett trained filly has a win, a second and a third place finish in her three career starts - all at Oaklawn Park. She makes her stakes debut Sunday off a second March 24, a third in an Allowance Optional Claiming February 19 and a maiden score at first asking January 16.
