OffTrackBetting.com - Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington, Kentucky will be the scene of the G3 Hilliard Lyons Doubledogdare Stakes on Friday, April 21. Fillies and mares four years old and upward will be after the winner's share of the $100,000 purse when they take to Keeneland's dirt track and race 1 1/16 miles.
A competitive field of just five have been confirmed for the Doubledogdare Stakes - race 9 on Keeneland's Friday schedule. Post time is 5:30 PM. Here is a look into the past performances of all five combatants for this intriguing G3 stakes.
Unbridled Mo - Todd Pletcher trained filly has five wins in her seven career starts. She enters off nice win in the G3 Houston Ladies Classic at Sam Houston January 21 which followed a career worst effort- an uncharacteristic sixth in the G3 Comely Stakes at Aqueduct November 26. Before that were four straight wins including the minor Remington Park Oaks September 25 and the G3 Monmouth Park Oaks before that - August 20. Unbridled Mo has won five of her last six starts overall and bounced back in impressive fashion last time out. She tries to build another win streak Friday when she departs from the outside post 5 with John Velazquez in the irons of the obvious favorite.
Lady Fog Horn - has 13 wins, four seconds and two third place finishes in 23 career starts for trainer Anthony Granitz. She has been very good in her last six starts especially posting four wins and a pair of runner-up finishes over that span. Last time out was a second in an Allowance Optional Claiming on this track April 9 which followed a terrific win in the G2 Falls City Handicap at Churchill Downs in November and a good win in the minor Frances Slocum Stakes at Indiana Grand in October. Her other graded stakes result was a second in the G3 Cardinal Handicap at Churchill Downs in November, 2015. Lady Fog Horn has been competitive every time out and will be after a second graded stakes score in three starts - from gate 2 with Albin Jiminez aboard.

Power of Snunner - Joe Sharp trained mare has placed in 23 of 26 career starts - seven wins, 14 seconds and two third place finishes. She arrives off a fourth in the G2 Azeri Stakes at Oaklawn Park March 18 which followed four straight runner-up finishes including the G3 Bayakoa Stakes on that track February 18 and three minor stakes races to end her 2016 campaign. Her only stakes win came in the minor Foxy JG Stakes at Parx last May but she has certainly been knocking on the door of her second. Power of Snunner has been a factor in every career start so far and shoots for a first ever graded stakes score from the rail Friday. Mike Smith will be in the saddle.
Dear Elaine - lightly races Charles Lopresti trained filly has three wins, a second and two third place finishes in 10 career starts. She makes her graded stakes debut Friday off a third in an Allowance Optional Claiming on this track April 9 after an eighth in her only stakes action to date - the minor Holiday Inaugural Stakes at Turfway Park in December, an Allowance score here in October and a third, a fourth and a fifth respectively in a trio of Allowance races in 2016. Dear Elaine has been a tad up-and-down in her career but will be out for a statement win from post 3 Friday. Julien Leparoux has the mount.
Twirl Girl - has 12 career starts for trainer Joe Sharp with two wins, four seconds and a third place finish. She makes her graded stakes debut having failed to place in her last four starts overall - a seventh last time out in an Allowance Optional Claiming here April 12 followed a fifth and a fourth in another two Allowance Optional Claiming races and a fourth in the minor Azalea Stakes at Gulfstream Park last July. Twirl Girl hasn't been all that impressive but hopes to change her fortunes around from gate 4 Friday. Javier Castellano gets the call.
