2017 Eatontown Stakes Entries at Monmouth Park

Time and Motion 9-2

Has 12 career starts for trainer James Toner with five wins, a second and two third place finishes. She enters off an OK third in the G3 Beaugay Stakes at Belmont Park May 13 which followed consecutive sixths - the G2 Jenny Wiley Stakes at Keeneland April 15 and the G1 Matriarch Stakes in December. She was terrific before that - a good win in the G1 QE II Challenge Cup at Keeneland October 15 followed another win in the G2 Lake Placid Stakes at Saratoga August 21, a second behind Canadian Horse of the Year Catch a Glimpse in the G1 Belmont Oaks Invitational July 9 and a nice three race win streak - the listed Wonder Again Stakes June 5, the minor Memories Of Silver Stakes April 24 and a MSW at Gulfstream in March. She also had a fifth in the 2015 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf and a third in the G3 Miss Grillo Stakes at Belmont Park in September of that year. Time and Motion was very good at this time last year and hopes to snap a bit of a funk when she departs from post 13 with Nik Juarez guiding the tepid morning line favorite and only G1 winner in the field.

Zipessa 5-1

Has 11 career starts for trainer Michael Stidham with four wins, a second and two third place finishes. She enters on the heels of consecutive fifths - the G2 Sheepshead Bay Stakes last time out May 6 and the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf which followed a respectable second in the G1 Rodeo Drive Stakes here October 1, an OK third in the G1 Beverly D. Stakes at Arlington August 13, a good win in the G3 Dr. James Penny Memorial Stakes at Parx July 4 and a third in the G3 Mint Julep Stakes at Churchill Downs June 11. Zipessa has been just OK lately and will be after her first win in nearly a year Saturday. Mitchell Murrill will be in the irons of the second betting choice and only other graded stakes winner in the field - from gate 8.

Light in Paris 6-1

Irish bred Chad Brown trained mare has placed in 11 of 16 career starts - six wins, a second and four third place finishes. She arrives off nice win in the minor Plenty of Grace Stakes at Aqueduct April 15 which followed a sixth in the G2 Hillsborough Stakes March 11 and a decent runner-up finish behind Isabella Sings in the G3 Endeavour Stakes February 11 - both at Tampa Bay. Before that was an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Tampa Bay January 8, nearly a year away and a fourth in the G3 Suwannee River Stakes at Gulfstream in February, 2016. She has placed in three of her last four starts overall and tries for a first graded stakes score from gate 12. Daniel Centeno rides the co-third choice.

Grand Jete 6-1

British bred Chad Brown trained filly has placed in seven of nine career starts - two wins, two seconds and three third place finishes. She made her North American debut last time out and produced an Allowance score at Keeneland April 13 after an eighth in her final race at home - the Prix Ceres in November. She has been decent so far and will try to build on a nice effort last time out when she leaves from gate 6 with Joe Bravo aboard the other third betting choice.

Tin Type Gal 8-1

Graham Motion trained filly has won three of her seven career starts with a third-place finish squeezed in there - failing to place in the others. Last time out was an OK third in the G2 Sands Point Stakes at Belmont Park way back on September 17 after a disappointing fifth in the competitive G1 Del Mar Oaks August 20 and a career-best outing - a win in the Grade 3 Boiling Springs Stakes at Monmouth Park July 24. Before that was a fifth in the minor Wild Applause Stakes at Belmont Park June 19, nine months away, a nice win in the G3 Miss Grillo Stakes on that track in September and a maiden score at Saratoga last August. Tin Type Gal has been great at times, not so good at others and will be out to gain a little consistency from post 3 Saturday. Antonio Gallardo has the mount.

Cali Thirty Seven 8-1

Joseph Orseno trained mare has 19 career starts with five wins, a second and two third place finishes. She enters off a win in the minor Powder Break Stakes (for the second year in a row) at Gulfstream April 29 which followed a fifth in the G3 Suwannee River Stakes on that track February 11 and off-the-board finishes in her previous three starts. Her only other graded stakes action came on September 5, 2015 when she finished sixth in the G3 Boiling Springs Stakes on his track. Cali Thirty Seven hasn't been all that impressive so far in her career and hopes for a breakthrough performance from post 5 Saturday. CJ McMahon will be in the saddle.

All in Fun 12-1

Has been just OK in her 17-race career for trainer Shug McGaughey - four wins and three second place finishes. She enters in a bit of a funk having failed to place in her last four starts. Last time out was a fifth in the G3 Beaugay Stakes at Belmont Park May 13 after a sixth in the minor Dahlia Stakes at Laurel Park April 22, a tenth in the G3 Athenia Stakes and a fourth after being DQ'd from second in the G3 Violet Stakes at Monmouth Park September 10. Before that were two straight Allowance Optional Claiming scores - the last coming at Saratoga August 17. Her only other graded stakes action resulted in a fifth in the G2 Lake George Stakes at Saratoga July 24. All in Fun has been inconsistent and will be out to snap a skid with Jose Ferrer guiding her from post 11.

Kyllachy Queen 12-1

Irish bred Christophe Clement trained mare has placed in 10 of 15 career starts - five wins, four seconds and a third-place finish. She won a couple of stakes in Italy and Britain before shipping but has been inconsistent in her last three starts overall. Last time out was a second in an Allowance at Keeneland April 22 which followed nine months away, a twelfth in the Group 2 Kilboy Estate Stakes in England in July and a fifth in the G2 New York Stakes at Belmont Park last June. Kyllachy Queen shoots for a first graded/group score Saturday in so-so form and will have Abel Lezcano guiding her from post 9.

Shaan 15-1

Irish bred Todd Pletcher trained filly has placed in six of eight career starts - three wins, three seconds and two third place finishes. She makes her graded stakes debut Saturday off an Allowance score at Keeneland which followed a second in an Allowance Optional Claiming February 24 and a second in her only stakes action - the minor Tropical Park Oaks December 31 - both at Gulfstream. Shaan has been good against lesser company and hopes it translates in her step up in competition Saturday. Eddie Castro has been tabbed to ride from gate 4.

Hip Hop N Jazz 15-1

Thomas Proctor trained mare has placed in eight of nine career starts - four wins, three seconds and a third-place finish. She enters off a sixth in the minor Licence Fee Stakes at Belmont Park April 30 which followed a two-race win streak - the minor Houston Distaff Stakes at Sam Houston January 29 and an Allowance Optional Claiming at Fair Grounds in December. She recorded three straight runner-up finishes in Allowance Optional Claiming and a third in her only graded stakes action - the G3 Delaware Oaks in July before that. Hip Hop N Jazz has been competitive almost every time out and will be after a strong bounce back Saturday from gate 10. Angel Cruz rides.

Bishop's Pond 15-1

Has just three wins, three seconds and two third place finishes for trainer Jason Servis. She makes her graded stakes debut Saturday off a respectable second in the minor Plenty of Grace Stakes at Aqueduct April 15, an Allowance Optional Claiming score on that track November 10 and a pair of fifths in similar races at New York tracks at the end of last summer. She failed to place in three of her previous four starts as well. Bishop's Pond has been OK lately but looks as though she'll be in over her head in this one. She leaves from gate 2 with a yet-to-be-determined jockey aboard.

Quiet Kitten 30-1

Thomas Morley trained mare made her graded stakes debut last January 9 and finished a disappointing eighth in the G3 Marshua's River Stakes at Gulfstream and has mostly been disappointing since. She enters off two decent results - a third last time out in the G3 Orchid Stakes April 1 followed a second in the G3 The Very One Stakes March 4 - both at Gulfstream. Before that was a seventh in the minor Mary Todd Stakes February 20, a fourth in the G3 La Prevoyante Stakes January 28, a fifth in an Allowance Optional Claiming (all at Gulfstream) back on July 16, a fourth in a similar race at Pimlico in June and an eighth in the G3 Orchid Stakes here in April. She posted a win by two lengths in the $125,000 Claiming Crown Tiara Stakes December 5, 2015 and also had a second in the minor Cellars Shiraz Stakes October 31 of that year but has been inconsistent since. Quiet Kitten now has seven wins, three seconds and five third place finishes in 27 career starts and will look to snap a 10-race losing skid from the rail with Victor Lebron guiding her.

Tricky Escape 30-1

Lynn Ashby trained filly has placed in all seven career starts - two wins, three seconds and two third place finishes. She steps into stakes company for the first time off a third in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Pimlico May 19 and a win, a second and a third-place finish respectively in a trio of Allowance races this past spring. She has been a factor in every race so far and hopes to be again in her major step up in competition. Forest Boyce is scheduled to ride.

Money'soncharlotte 6-1

Main Track Only Entry - Kelly Breen trained mare has just four wins, two seconds and two third place finishes in 18 career starts. She enters off her best result in a while - an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Parx April 8. It followed off-the-board finishes in two previous Allowance Optional Claiming races in November. She has four graded stakes starts in her career and has placed in just one - a third in the G2 Gazelle Stakes in April, 2015. Money'soncharlotte has been less-than-spectacular but did look decent last time out. Nik Juarez will be in the reins from post 7 Saturday if this race is indeed moved off the turf.

Pleasant Mine 30-1

Main Track Only Entry - Anthony Margotta trained filly has seven career starts with three wins. She has failed to place in her last three starts ahead of this weekend - a fourth last time out in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Parx May 16 followed another fourth in the minor Wayward Lass Stakes at Tampa Bay January 21 and a tenth in the minor Safely Kept Stakes at Laurel Park in November. Before that was a two-race Allowance win streak.
