He makes his graded stakes debut Saturday off a nice 4 1/2 length win with an 85 Beyer Speed Figure on this track in the minor San Pedro Stakes April 16 which followed a sixth in the minor Gazebo Stakes at Oaklawn Park March 4 and a maiden score here February 11. Aristocratic has been competitive virtually every time out and hopes to be again Saturday from the outside gate 6. Rafael Bejarano gets the call.
Kimbear - has seven career starts for trainer Eric Kruljac with a win, a second and three third place finishes. He made his stakes debut last time out and finished sixth in the G1 Santa Anita Derby April 8 after having finally broken maiden by 4 1/2 lengths on this track February 25. Before that was a third, a second and a fourth respectively in a trio of MSW races. Kimbear has been OK so far in his career and will be after a bounce back performance Saturday. American Anthem - Bob Baffert trained colt has a win and a second place finish in his four career starts - three of which he was favored in. He enters off a couple of pretty bad performances - a twelfth last time out in the G1 Santa Anita Derby April 8 followed a tenth in the G2 Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park March 18. Before that was a very respectable second behind Gormley in the G3 Sham Stakes here January 7 in his second career start and a win at first asking - at Del Mar December 3. American Anthem has shown form but will be after a better performance Saturday when he leaves from the rail with Mike Smith guiding him.
Bobby Abu Dhabi - will hit the track for the fifth time for trainer Peter Miller having posted two wins and a runner-up finish so far. Last time out was an OK second behind Aristocratic in the minor San Pedro Stakes here April 16 which followed an Allowance Optional Claiming score on this track March 19, a fourth in his only other graded stakes action to date - the G1 Los Alamitos Cash Call Futurity and a promising win at 2-1 odds at Del Mar November 19. Bobby Abu Dhabi has been competitive so far and hopes to continue that trend from post 3 Saturday. Norberto Arroyo has been tabbed to ride from post 3.
Taxman's Quest - Richard Mandella trained gelding has four career starts with two wins so far. He makes his graded stakes debut Saturday off a fifth in the minor San Pedro Stakes April 16 and a seventh in the minor Pasadena Stakes march 19 - both on this track. Before that was a nice win in the minor Oklahoma Classics Juvenile Stakes at Remington Park in October and a maiden score at first asking on that track in August. Taxman's Quest hopes to return to his early-career form when he leaves from gate 4 with Tyler Baze aboard.
Sutton Impact - will hit the track for just the second time for trainer Peter Miller having posted a nice 5 1/2 length win in his only career start - on this track April 15. He looked good in that race and hopes to keep the roll going from post 5 Saturday. Flavien Prat has the mount.
