Ring Weekend - returned from a 14 month layoff May 21 for trainer Graham Motion and finished a very respectable second in the G2 Dixie Stakes at Pimlico and followed that with an uncharacteristic sixth in the G1 Fourstardave Handicap August 20 and a good win in the G2 Bernard Baruch Handicap at Saratoga September 5. He enters this week off another good win in the G2 Seabiscuit Handicap at Del Mar November 26 which followed consecutive uncharacteristic seventh place finishes - the BC Mile November 5 and the G1 Shadwell Turf Mile at Keeneland October 8. Before the layoff he won the 2015 G1 Frank E. Kilroe Mile at Santa Anita and had wins in the G3 Saranac Stakes in September, 2014 and the G3 Hill Prince Stakes a month later. Ring Weekend now has seven wins, four seconds and two third place finishes in 20 career starts and has five wins and two seconds in his last 11 starts overall. He has been a tad inconsistent lately but shoots for a second straight graded stakes score and a possible trip overseas for the Queen Anne Stakes at Ascot. Drayden Van Dyke will be in the reins from post 11 hoping to make it three-for-four at this distance.
Twentytwentyvision - has hit the board in 13 of 14 career starts for trainer Richard Mandella - five wins, three thirds and six third place finishes. He arrives on the heels of consecutive thirds - the minor Lure Stakes here last time out October 30 and the G2 John Henry Turf Championship on this track October 2 and a nice win in the minor Rolling Green Stakes at Golden Gate September 5. Before that was a third in the G1 Shoemaker Mile June 4, another third in the G3 American Stakes in May and a runner-up finish in the G3 Thunder Road Stakes in April - all on this track. Twentytwentyvision has been competitive every time out but will still be after his first ever graded stakes score Saturday - he has a win and a second at 1 1/8 miles on turf. Mike Smith will be in the saddle from post 9.

Flamboyant - defending champion in this race - French bred Peter Gallagher trained gelding has been up and down in his career and enters this week in typically inconsistent form - a third last time out in the G2 Hollywood Turf Cup at Del Mar November 25 followed consecutive eighths including the G2 John Henry Turf Cup at Santa Anita October 2 and the G2 Del Mar Handicap in August. Before that was an OK third in the G3 Eddie Read Stakes at Del Mar July 17 and a quality fifth in the Group 1 Dubai Turf at Meydan March 26 against some of the best turf horses on the planet. He won the G2 San Marcos Stakes in February and the 2016 San Gabriel Stakes at 46-1 odds last January as well. Flamboyant now has five wins, three seconds and six third place finishes in 24 career starts but has placed in just two of his last five overall. He hopes to channel his early 2016 form. A Red Tie Day - Richard Baltas trained gelding has five wins and four third place finishes in 19 career starts. He enters off a fifth behind Ring Weekend among others in the G2 Seabiscuit Handicap at Del Mar November 26, a good win over Twentytwentyvision in the minor Lure Stakes at Santa Anita October 30, a fifth in the G2 John Henry Turf Championship on this track October 2, an Allowance Optional Claiming score August 26 and a fifth in the minor Wickerr Stakes here in July. His other graded stakes results were a ninth in the G2 Charles Whittingham Stakes in May and a fourth in the G2 Elkhorn Stakes at Keeneland in April. A Red Tie Day tries for his first graded stakes win and enters having won two of his last four starts overall. Corey Nakatani rides from post 7.
Point Piper - Jerry Hollendorfer trainee has five wins, seven seconds and four third place finishes in 28 career starts. He enters on the heels of consecutive runner-up finishes - the minor Winter Challenge Stakes last time out at Los Alamitos December 17 and the G3 Native Diver Stakes at Del Mar November 27 after a sixth in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile, a fourth in the G2 Kelso Handicap October 18 and a win in the G3 Longacres Mile in August. Before that was another fourth in the G2 Californian Stakes at Santa Anita May 22, an OK third in the G2 Oaklawn Handicap April 16, a fifth in the G1 Santa Anita Derby in March and another third in the G3 Mineshaft Handicap at Fair Grounds February 2. Point Piper has been decent lately and will be after a first ever graded stakes score Saturday. Mario Gutierrez has the mount from gate 2.
Some in Tieme - Brazilian bred Paulo Lobo trainee has six career starts with three wins, a second and a third place finish. He makes his North American debut Saturday off a terrific win in the Group 1 Longines Gran Premio Latinoamericano back in March, a second in a stakes last January and another Group 1 score in September, 2015 - the Linneo de Paula Machado - Grande Criterium. Some in Tieme was superb in limited action at home and hopes to be so again Saturday in his first race in nine months. Tiago Josue Pereira is scheduled to ride from the outside gate 12.
Perfectly Majestic - Robert Hess trained gelding has placed in 17 of 20 career starts - four wins, six seconds and seven third place finishes. He arrives off an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Del Mar November 19, a second in the minor Lure Stakes here October 30 and a fourth in the G2 City of Hope Mile on this track October 8. His other graded stakes results were a tenth in the G3 San Francisco Mile in April and a second in the G2 Mathis Brothers Mile just over a year ago on this track. Perfectly Majestic has been very good against lesser company and will be in search of his first ever stakes score Saturday. Victor Espinoza has the mount from gate 10.
Blue Tone - has six wins, four seconds and three third place finishes in 24 career starts for trainer Robert Hess. He won the minor Santana Mile Stake son this track in March, 2015 (he was second in that race in 2016) but has been just OK since. Last time out was a fourth in the G3 Native Diver Stakes at Del Mar November 27 which followed a third in the G2 Marathon Stakes here November 4 and an Allowance Optional Claiming score on this track October 7. He was at his best in late 2014/early 2015 when he was second in the 2014 G3 Native Diver and third in the 2015 G2 San Pasqual but he has placed in just three of 10 graded stakes tries overall. Blue Tone shoots for a first graded stakes score from the rail Saturday with Kent Desormeaux guiding him.
Syntax - Irish bred Phil D'Amato trainee has three wins, three seconds and three third place finishes in 16 career starts. He won the G3 Kent Stakes at Delaware Park in July, 2015 but hasn't been great since. Last time out was a fifth in an Allowance at Presque Isle Downs October 5 after a third in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Woodbine September 23 and a seventh in the G3 Cliff Hanger Stakes at Monmouth Park in August. He also had a ninth in the G3 Hawthorne Derby in October, 2015 and a sixth in the G3 Jefferson Cup at Churchill Downs in September of that year. Syntax has placed in just two of his last six starts overall and looks to snap a seven race losing streak from gate 4. Joe Talamo rides.
Itsinthepost - French bred Jeff Mullins trained gelding has 21 career starts with three wins, four seconds and five third place finishes. He makes his stakes debut Saturday in so-so form - a second last time out in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Del Mar November 19 followed a win and another second respectively in another pair of Allowance optional Claiming races. He placed in four of his previous five as well - all Allowance Optional Claiming races. Isinthepost has been good against lesser competition and hopes that success translates in his major step up in competition. Tyler Baze has been tabbed to ride from post 5.
Conquest Daddyo - Mark Casse trained colt burst on the scene in 2015 when he won the G2 Summer Stakes at Woodbine in his third career start. He went on to an OK fourth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf but has been disappointing since. Last time out was an eighth in the G3 Hill Prince Stakes at Belmont Park October 8 which followed a fifth in the minor Breeders' Stakes at Woodbine and a nice win in the minor Toronto Cup Stakes in July. He placed in just one of three minor stakes starts before that. Conquest Daddyo tries to gain a little traction Saturday and for his first graded stakes in on 15 months with Luis Contreras in the saddle from gate 6.
Quick Casablanca - Chilean bred Ronald McAnally trainee was terrific at home placing in all 11 starts including a win in the Group 1 Asociacion Latinoamericana in 2012. He was OK once he arrived in North America - a win in the G3 Last Tycoon Stakes in April, 2014 and a second in the G2 San Juan Capistrano Stakes two months later being the best results. He failed to place in five starts in 2015 and has been typically inconsistent in 2016. Last time out was a fifth in the G2 Hollywood Turf Cup Stakes at Del Mar November 25 after another fifth in the G2 Marathon Stakes at Santa Anita November 4, a tenth in the G2 Del Mar Handicap August 20, a decent second on dirt in the G3 Cougar II Handicap here July 25, an ugly seventh place finish in the G2 Charles Whittingham Stakes at Santa Anita May 29 and a nice win in the G3 San Juan Capistrano April 10. Before that was a second in the G2 San Luis Rey Stakes March 13 and a third in the G2 San Marcos Stakes in February. Quick Casablanca has shown form in the past but has failed to place in four of his last five starts overall. Gonzalo Gabriel Ulloa Perez has been tabbed with righting the ship from gate 8.
