He makes his stakes debut Sunday after finally breaking maiden comfortably by 2 3/4 lengths with a respectable 78 Beyer Speed Figure last time out on this track April 28. He was second in his debut in the minor Vandal Stakes here August 14. Malibu Secret has been good against lesser competition and hopes to carry the momentum into his stakes bow. Eurico Rosa Da Silva has the mount on the morning line favorite.
Legendary trainer Bill Mott sends out Channel Maker for his eighth career start after his seven starts produced a win, a second and two third place finishes. He placed in his first three career starts on this track including a win over Malibu Secret in the minor Vandal Stales August 14 and a third in the G2 Summer Stakes in September. He went on to a seventh in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf and an eighth in the G3 Palm Beach Stakes at Gulfstream March 4. He has been just OK in two starts since - a second last time out in an Allowance April 26 followed a fourth in a similar race April 8 - both at Keeneland. Won his debut at Fair Grounds in February for trainer Mark Casse but has failed to place in to starts since. Last time out was an unsuccessful step up into graded stakes company - a seventh in the G3 Lexington Stakes at Keeneland April 15 after a fifth in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Fair Grounds March 20. Souper Tapit hasn't been great lately but hopes to change things around from gate 4. Florent Geroux gets the call.
Intriguing Mark Casse trained colt has two wins and a second-place finish in his three career starts - all on this track. He steps into stakes company for the first time Sunday on a two-race win streak - an Allowance Optional Claiming by a good 1 1/4 lengths with a career-best 83 Beyer Speed Figure last time out May 7 followed eight months away and a maiden score in July. He was second in his debut last May. Conquest Lemonraid is just a nose away from being undefeated and hopes his early success translates in his major step up in competition. Patrick Husbands will be in the saddle from gate 2.
Will hit the track for the fourth time for trainer Michael Keogh having posted a win and a third-place finish so far- all at Woodbine. Last time out was an OK third behind likely Plate Favourites King and His Court and Tiz a Slam in the minor Wando Stakes here May 7 which followed a maiden score September 11 and a seventh in his debut August 26. Megagray will chase a career-best effort when he leaves from post 3 Sunday with Jesse Campbell aboard.
Has three wins in his six career starts for trainer Michael Doyle. He makes his graded stakes debut Sunday off a fifth in the minor Wando Stakes here May 7, a nice win in the minor Rushaway Stakes at Turfway Park March 25, a sixth in the minor John Battaglia Memorial Stakes on that track March 4 and a two-race win streak - the best of which coming in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Turfway Park in February. Montu has been decent so far and hopes to make the most of his graded stakes bow from the rail. David Moran has been tabbed to ride.
Mark Casse trained colt has two wins in four career starts - those coming in his first two starts with an Allowance at Keeneland in October being the best. He has failed to place in his last two starts however - a seventh last time out in the minor Kitten's Joy Stales February 4 followed a sixth in the G3 Dania Beach Stakes January 7 - both at Gulfstream. Minister's Strike was good early in his career and hopes to snap out of a funk from the outside post 7 with Gary Boulanger guiding him.
