Las Vegas, NV - The $300,000 Grade 1 La Brea Stakes went down Thursday, December 26 - opening day at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens and the second longest shot on the board, Heir Kitty provided the upset at 13-1 odds by 1 1/4 lengths in the field of six three year old fillies. 4-5 favorite Sweet Lulu finished second while Executiveprivilege got up for third. My Happy Face finished just off the board in fourth while Journey On and Madame Cactus completed the order of finish.
