Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 2 Fourstardave Handicap takes place this Saturday August 11 from Saratoga Raceway. An impressive purse of $500,000 will be on the line as horses three years old and upward go one mile on Saratoga's main track.
A strong group of 10 will take part in the Fourstardave Handicap. It is race 11 on Saratoga's Saturday card with a post time of 6:45 PM. Here is a look at all of the entries for this lucrative Grade 2 race.
Data Link - finished a respectable third in the Grade 3 Canadian Turf Stakes at Gulfstream on March 3 in his graded stakes debut went on to win the Makers 46 Mile in impressive fashion. Last time out Data Link won the Grade 2 Monmouth Stakes in record time to follow a fifth in the Turf Classic Stakes at Churchill Downs. He has six wins in 12 career races and based on his last outing he has to be on the Fourstardave radar.
Get Stormy - In 2011 Get Stormy won the Grade 1 Churchill's Turf Classic, and finished second twice and third twice out of eight starts. But sandwiched around impressive results is a terribly disappointing 12 at the TVG Breeders' Cup Mile in November. He won the Maker's Mark Mile last year as well. 2012 it has been a different story. He won the Grade 1 Gulfstream Park Handicap but followed it up with a fourth in the Grade 1 Maker's Mile and a disappointing ninth in the Turf Classic Stakes on Kentucky Derby Day. Last time out Get Stormy finished a respectable second in the Monmouth Stakes. Get Stormy is a tad inconsistent but is still one of the names to watch in the Fourstardave.
Wise Dan - Wise Dan ended his 2011 campaign with impressive wins in the Grade 2 Fayette Stakes and the Grade 1 Clark Handicap and started 2012 with yet another win - the Grade 3 Ben Ali Stakes at Keeneland in April. In his only other start this year Wise Dan was second in the Grade 1 Stephen Foster Handicap at Churchill Downs on June 16. John Velazquez will be in the saddle as per usual for this most intriguing entry.
Upgrade - made a graded stakes debut with a fifth in the Grade 3 Fort Macy Stakes on May 5 and followed that with a very impressive win in the Grade 3 Jaipur Stakes on that same track. Before that was a win in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Gulfstream on March 18. Two wins in three starts in 2012 puts Upgrade in some serious company ahead of this race.
Right One - finished second to Upgrade in the Jaipur Stakes and then went on to finish a disappointing fifth last time out in the Grade 3 Poker Stakes at Belmont Park. Right One has 26 career starts for trainer Chris Clement but has just five wins.

Yield Bogey - started 2012 with a pair of third place finishes in Grade 3 events - the Jaipur and the Poker Stakes at Belmont Park and followed that with a fifth last time out in the Willard Straight Stakes here on July 21. Yield Bogey hasn't won in over two years and despite some so-so results appears overmatched in the Fourstardave.
Corporate Jungle - had won four of his last five starts - three in a row including the Grade 3 Appleton Stakes at Gulfstream on March 31 and the Elkwood Stakes at Monmouth on May 19. He followed that up with a pedestrian fifth last time out in the Shoemaker Mile Stakes at Hollywood Park. But based on that impressive winning streak Corporate Jungle is just another intriguing name to watch this weekend.
Guys Reward - Dale Romans pupil has put together quite a run - three straight wins including the Grade 2 Firecracker Handicap at Churchill Downs last time out. He has 34 starts win seven wins - needless to say Guys Reward is in the best form of his career.
Surfrider - French import that has raced only three times on North American soil. A fifth in the Grade 3 Shakertown Stakes in her US debut followed an impressive win in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Belmont on June 3. Last time out however was a distant ninth in the Grade 2 Highlander Stakes at Woodbine.
Crossbow - won two straight Allowance Optional Claiming races at Aqueduct to start his 2012 campaign and followed it up with a fifth in the Grade 2 True North Handicap at Belmont on June 9 and a third last time out in the Grade 3 James Marvin Stakes. Crossbow has four wins, two seconds and two third place finishes in 10 career starts. He is a main track only entry.
