Las Vegas, NV - The Santa Ynez Stakes completes a weekend of Grade 2 racing at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia California - the Santa Ynez comes our way Monday, January 21. Three year old fillies will be featured as they sprint 6 1/2 furlongs on Santa Anita's dirt track in search of the winner's portion of the $150,000 purse.
The Santa Ynez has attracted a field of eight three year old fillies to run in race 7 on Santa Anita's Monday card. Post time is 3:36 PM. Here is a look at the past performances of all eight entries ahead of this Grade 2 event.
Beholder - broke maiden July 22 to follow a pedestrian fourth in her career debut at Hollywood Park on June 28. Her last three starts have been impressive - a second in the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante Stakes September 1 was followed by a very nice Allowance score here October 4. But the culmination was a superb win in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies in November. Beholder has five career starts with three wins including the last two starts in a row to go along with one second place finish. She is a finalist for the Eclipse Award for two year old fillies for a reason and is the unquestioned favorite Monday.
Switch to the Lead - won the Maiden Special Weight race in her first career start and then followed that up with an OK third to Executivprivilege in the Grade 3 Sorrento Stakes here on August 8. Since then has been mixed results - a seventh in the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity, a sixth in the Grade 1 Chandelier and then a good second last time out in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Filly Sprint Preview Stakes. Everyone will be chasing Beholder - Switch to the Lead may be the best of the bunch.
Renee's Titan - Doug O'Neill trained filly finished second to Midnight Ballet two back in the Sharp Cat Stakes to follow another second in the Phil D. Shepherd Stakes at Fairplex Park September 14. Here graded stakes results include a sixth four back in the Grade 1 Debutante at Del Mar, a fourth before that in the Grade 3 Sorrento Stakes, also at Del Mar and last time out - a disappointing sixth in the Grade 1 Hollywood Starlet at Hollywood Park December 8. She does hold one career - a Maiden score in June in her career debut.
Dawn's Charm - Jeff Bonde trained filly has just three career starts - the best of which came last time out - a Maiden Special Weight score at Hollywood Park December 14. Before that were a fifth and an eleventh in similar races - one coming on this track, the other at Hollywood Park.

Imwiththeblonde - will make her stakes debut Monday after four career starts produced a win, two seconds and a third place finish. Last time out was a second in an Allowance at Hollywood Park December 7 to follow a Maiden Special Weight score on this track in October. She has placed in all her career starts but takes a step up in competition for the Santa Ynez.
Lady Rosamond - Bob Baffert trained filly has three career starts with a win and two seconds - the win coming in a Maiden Special Weight at Hollywood Park and the seconds coming right here at Santa Anita in a Maiden Special Weight and an Allowance last time out December 31.
Small Moves - her first two career starts resulted in a pair of ugly tenth place finishes but last time out was a nice Maiden Claiming win at Santa Anita December 31 in her third career start.
