Last time out was a terrific win back on August 27 in the G1 Ballerina Stakes at Saratoga after a win in the G2 Honorable Miss Handicap here July 27, another win in the minor Dancin Renee Stakes June 3, consecutive seconds - the minor Critical Eye Stakes May 30 and the minor Carousel Stakes April 14 and wins in two more minor stakes races - the Spring Fever Stakes at Oaklawn Park February 20 and the American Beauty Stakes in January. She has placed in 14 of her last 16 starts overall ahead of this week - competitive every time out. Jockey John Velazquez tries to make it four wins in a row when they leave from gate 2 Saturday as the tepid morning line favorite.
Carina Mia 7-2 - Bill Mott trained filly has four wins, three seconds and a third place finishes in nine career starts. She enters off a decent second in the G1 Cotillion Stakes at Parx September 24, an OK third in the G1 Ballerina Stakes at Saratoga August 27, a second behind the terrific Songbird in the G1 Coaching Club American Oaks July 24 and a two race win streak - the G1 Acorn Stakes at Belmont Park June 11 and by six lengths in the G2 Eight Belles Stakes at Churchill Downs May 6. Before that was an uncharacteristic fourth in the G1 Ashland Stakes at Keeneland in April and another impressive two race win streak - by 4 1/2 lengths in the G2 Golden Rod Stakes at Churchill Downs November 28 and a maiden score by 9 3/4 lengths in record time at Keeneland October 29. Carina Mia has been very good so far and is expected to be competitive again Saturday. Wavell Avenue 6-1 - defending champion - Chad Brown trained mare has placed in 13 of 19 career starts - seven wins, two seconds and four third place finishes and finished second in the Eclipse Award voting for Female Sprinter. Last time out was an OK third in the G2 Gallant Bloom Handicap at Belmont Park October 1 after a disappointing sixth in the G1 Ballerina Stakes at Saratoga August 27, a good win in the minor Shine Again Stakes August 3, a second in the G3 Bed o' Roses Handicap at Belmont Park June 25, a disappointing fourth as favorite in the G1 Humana Distaff at Churchill Downs May 7, an OK third in the G1 Madison Stakes at Keeneland April 9 and a career defining win at 10-1 odds in last year's Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint. Wavell Avenue has been just OK since her Breeders' Cup triumph and hopes to regain that magic again Saturday from gate 10. Joel Rosario will be in the saddle.
By the Moon 8-1 - winner of the 2014 G1 Frizette Stakes - Michelle Nevin trained filly has four wins, four seconds and a third place finish in 12 career starts. Last time out was a respectable second in the G1 Ballerina Stakes at Saratoga August 27 after one of her wins - in the G3 Bed o' Roses Handicap at Belmont Park June 15, a fourth in the G3 Distaff Handicap at Aqueduct April 17 and eight months away. Before the layoff was a third in the G1 Test Stakes at Saratoga August 8, 2015 and consecutive runner-up finishes - the G1 Acorn Stakes last June 6 at Belmont Park and the minor Parx Oaks in May of last year. She also had a win in the minor Caesar's Wish Stakes in March, 2015. By the Moon has placed in six of her last seven starts overall and will be looking for her second graded stakes score in three starts from gate 6. Jose Ortiz has the mount.
Tara's Tango 8-1 - Jerry Hollendorfer trained filly has 13 career starts with five wins, three seconds and two third place finishes. She was last seen running fourth in the G1 Zenyatta Stakes on this track October 1 after posting a nice win in the G3 Rancho Bernardo Handicap at Del Mar August 17, an OK third in the G1 Apple Blossom Handicap back on April 15, a good win in the G1 Santa Margarita Stakes at Santa Anita in March and another win as favorite in the G2 Santa Maria Stakes February 14. She also had a respectable third in the G2 Santa Monica Stakes January 23 and three runner-up finishes earlier in her career - behind Champion Stellar Wind in the G2 Summertime Oaks June 20 at Santa Anita, as favorite in the minor Angels Flight Stakes May and in the minor Santa Paula Stakes April 5. Tara's Tango has won three of her last five starts and will be out to avenge an uncharacteristic fourth -from post 3 with Rafael Bejarano in the irons.
Paulassilverlining 10-1 - Michelle Nevin trained filly has placed in 13 of 16 career starts - seven wins, four seconds and two third place finishes. She won the G2 Matron Stakes at Belmont Park in October, 2014 and went on to a runner-up finish in the G3 Tempted Stakes to end her 2014 campaign - she also won the minor Ruthless Stakes in January, 2015. She raced in graded stakes company for the first time in 17 months April 17 and posted a very nice 3 3/4 length win over Cavorting among others in the G3 Distaff Handicap and has since posted three more good results - a nice win last time out in the G2 Gallant Bloom Handicap at Belmont Park October 1 followed an uncharacteristic fifth in the G 1 Ballerina Stakes at Saratoga August 27, a second in the G2 Honorable Miss Handicap July 27 and a win in the G3 Vagrancy Handicap at Belmont Park May 21. Paulassilverlining has been a factor in every race so far in her career and hopes to be again Saturday. She has placed first or second in six of her last seven starts overall and hopes to keep the roll going from post 9. Joe Talamo gets the call.
Irish Jasper 10-1 - Chad Brown trained filly won the G3 Miss Preakness Stakes and G3 Victory Ride Stakes in 2015 but failed to place in four starts after that. She has rediscovered her form lately however - a win last time out in the G2 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes at Keeneland October 8 followed an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Saratoga August 12. She now has eight wins and a third place finish in 15 career starts and will be looking to make it three straight wins from post 11 Saturday. Irad Ortiz is scheduled to ride.
Finest City 12-1 - has placed in nine of 13 career starts for trainer Ian Kruljac. Last time out was an OK second in the G2 John C. Mabee Stakes at Del Mar September 4 after a fourth in the G2 Yellow Ribbon Stakes on that track July 16 and a respectable third behind Beholder in the G1 Vanity Mile at Santa Anita June 4. Before that was a career best effort - a track record-setting win in the G2 Great Lady M Stakes on Los Alamitos dirt April 23, a fourth in the G3 Las Flores Stakes at Santa Anita March 20, a third in an Allowance Optional Claiming February 11, a runner-up finish in the G2 Santa Monica Stakes at Santa Anita January 23 and a somewhat disappointing sixth in her graded stakes debut - the G1 La Brea Stakes December 26. Finest City has been decent so far in her career and chases her second stakes win from gate 12 Saturday with Mike Smith guiding her.
Gloryzapper 15-1 - lightly raced Phil D'Amato trained filly has placed in seven of eight career starts - four wins and three runner-up finishes. Last time out was a career-best effort - a win in the G3 LA Woman Stakes here October 9 after a disappointing graded stakes debut - an eighth in the G2 John C. Mabee Stakes at Del Mar September 4, an Allowance Optional Claiming score in August and a second in the minor Southern Truce Stakes on this track in July. Gloryzapper has been competitive for the most part and will be after her biggest win to date from post 7. Stewart Elliot rides.

Paola Queen has been inconsistent so far and has placed in just one of her last four starts overall (a G1 win). She searches for a strong bounce back with Javier Castellano aboard from the rail.
Spelling Again 20-1 - has six wins, three seconds and five third place finishes in 23 career starts for trainer Brad Cox but hasn't been great lately ahead of this weekend Last time out was a sixth in the G2 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes at Keeneland October 8 after a fifth in the minor Open Mind Stakes at Churchill Downs September 17 and a seventh in the G1 Ballerina Stakes at Saratoga August 27. Before that was a breakthrough win in the G2 Princess Rooney Stakes at Gulfstream Park July 2, a third in the G3 Winning Colors Stakes at Churchill Downs May 28, another third in the G2 Ruffian Stakes at Belmont Park May 15 and a seventh in the G1 Madison Stakes at Keeneland April 9. She won the G2 Chilukki Stakes at Churchill Downs November 7 and posted two straight wins including the minor Open Mind Stakes in September, 2015 as well. Spelling Again has struggled lately and hopes to right the ship with Luis Saez in the reins from the outside gate 14.
Gomo 20-1 - was last seen running fourth in the minor Unzip Me Stakes on this track October 1 which followed a good win in the G1 Darley Alcibiades Stakes at Keeneland October 2 for trainer Doug O'Neill. Before that was a win, a second and two third place finishes in four previous starts. She broke maiden five starts back by 5 1/4 lengths at Santa Anita June 25 and has also recorded a respectable third in the minor $100,000 Del Mar Juvenile Fillies Turf September 7 and a good second behind Pretty N Cool in the G2 Sorrento Stakes August 12. Gomo placed in her first five career starts but has failed to hit the board in her last two. Mario Gutierrez has been tabbed with getting Gomo back in the win column from gate 4 Saturday.
Wonder Gal 30-1 - Leah Gyarmati trained filly has three wins, two seconds and five third place finishes in 14 career starts. Last time out was a fifth in the G2 Gallant Bloom Handicap at Belmont Park October 1 after an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Saratoga September 2, another fifth in the G2 Barbara Fritchie Stakes at Laurel Park in February, a third in the Ladies Handicap at Aqueduct January 10 and another third in the G3 Comely Stakes November 28. She's also had a good win in the minor Empire Distaff Handicap last October, a second in the G2 Mother Goose Stakes in June and a third in the 2014 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. Wonder Gal has been in there with some top field and has been OK. She looks for her first graded stakes score however - from post 5 with Kendrick Carmouche in the reins.
