Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California opens for business on Friday, December 26 and features three graded stakes races. The first of which is the Grade 1 La Brea Stakes - a seven furlong test for three year old fillies. A purse of $300,000 will be on the line.
Mathis Brothers Mile Stakes 2014 at Santa Anita
Santa Anita in Arcadia, California will play host to the Grade 2 Mathis Brothers Mile Stakes, previously known as the Sir Beaufort Stakes on Opening Day Friday, December 26 at the California track. Three year olds will be after the winner's share of the $200,000 purse when they go one mile on Santa Anita's turf track.
2014 Los Alamitos Futurity
The Grade 1 Los Alamitos Futurity, formerly the Hollywood CashCall Futurity comes our way from Los Alamitos Race Course in Los Alamitos, California this Saturday, December 20 - a race that was moved to this track after the closing of Hollywood Park. Some of the best two year olds in the land will be after the winner's share of the $500,000 purse and the 10 qualifying points toward next year's Kentucky Derby when they go 1 1/16 miles on Los Alamitos dirt track.
Sugar Swirl Stakes 2014 at Gulfstream Park
Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida will play host to the Grade 3 Sugar Swirl Stakes on Saturday, December 13. Fillies and mares three years old and upward will be featured when they take to Gulfstream's dirt track and dash six furlongs for the winner's share of the $100,000 purse.
Starlet Stakes 2014 at Los Alamitos
The Grade 1 Starlet Stakes comes our way from Los Alamitos Race Course in Los Alamitos, California on Saturday, December 13 - a race formerly held at Hollywood Park. A nice purse of $350,000 and 10 qualifying points for the Kentucky Oaks in May will be on the line for two year old fillies willing to race 1 1/16 miles on Los Alamitos dirt track.
