Wood Memorial Stakes at Aqueduct Racetrack

Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens, New York will be a busy place this Saturday, April 6 with five graded stakes races on the card. The biggest of which is the Grade 1 Wood Memorial Stakes for three year old Kentucky Derby hopefuls. A nice purse of $1 million will be on the line as will 100-40-20-10 points toward qualification into the Kentucky Derby for the first through fourth place finishers, as three year olds race 1 1/8 miles on Aqueduct's main track.


Transylvania Stakes at Keeneland Race Course

Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky opens for its Spring Meet this weekend and the first graded stakes race takes place Friday, April 5. The Grade 3 Transylvania Stakes will feature a group of three year olds willing to go 1 1/16 miles on Keeneland's turf track in search of the winner's share of the $100,000 purse.

Louisiana Derby at Fairgrounds Racecourse

The 100th running of the Grade 2 Louisiana Derby comes our way from Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans, Louisiana this Saturday, March 30. A group of three year olds will be after the winner's share of the $1 million purse and more importantly the 100 points toward qualification in the Kentucky Derby in May when they go 1 1/8 miles on Fair Grounds main track.


Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park

Gulfstream Park in Hallandale, Florida will be the scene of six graded stakes races on a busy Saturday, March 30. This biggest of which is the Grade 1 Florida Derby - a 1 1/8 mile race for three year olds looking for the winner's share of the generous $1 million purse and the valuable 100 points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby in May.

The Grade 2 Gulfstream Oaks goes down this Saturday, March 30 from Gulfstream Park in Hallandale, Florida. A purse of $300,000 will be on the line as will 100 points toward qualification into the $1 million Kentucky Oaks for three year old fillies willing to go 1 1/8 miles on Gulfstream's main track.

The 2013 $10,000,000 Grade 1 Dubai World Cup at Meydan Racecourse is on tap for this Saturday, March 30 in the United Arab Emirates. The richest horse race in the World brings the best thoroughbred horses from all over the planet together for one big race in front of a rabid crowd of 50,000 fans. The Dubai World Cup is an open race for horses four year olds and upward that are willing to run 1 1/4 miles on the Meydan's synthetic surface.


Kentucky Derby Points Update Mar 25, 2013

The Road to the Kentucky Derby ended another chapter this past weekend with the close of the first part of the Championship Series in which 50-20-10-5 points were given out to the first through fourth place finishers. The Grade 3 Spiral Stakes went down at Turfway Park on Saturday and the Sunland Derby took place Sunday.


Santa Ana Stakes at Santa Anita Park

The Grade 2 Santa Ana Stakes comes our way this Sunday, March 24 from Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. Fillies and mares four years old and upward will be featured in this 1 1/8 mile turf race as they chase their share of the $150,000 purse.
